One of the great things about being an artist is the way painting can affect your mood.
The day I decided to paint this one, I was feeling a little down and wanted to paint something that would uplift me. This is a sunset from the house of dear friends, where a lazy afternoon into evening on their patio looking out at the sky over the mesa would leave me feeling like I had taken a vacation.
Something about the saturation of the color of the sky makes me feel fully alive and invigorated.
