Route 66 mural, kingman Arizona

16 x 20" oil on canvas in a gold leaf frame

There is a wonderful tradition for murals all along Route 66.  I loved the oversized bright florals of this one.

Midpoint cafe, route 66, Adrian texas.

We stopped for lunch at this great cafe which is exactly halfway between Chicago and Los Angeles on Route 66.

waiting for gas

36 x 24" oil on gallery wrap canvas in a floater frame.

We came through this spot in Bluff, Utah and I stopped to take photo references but the light was flat and I wasn't inspired.  Years later we came through here again and the light was perfect and I finally got the painting of this wonderful scene.

I love that the paintwork on the car is completely rusted, while the chrome is still perfectly shiny.  Add in the red rocks behind and it's right up my street.

Hoodoos at Bisti Badlands

24 x 24" oil on canvas in a black floater frame.

These otherworldly rock formations made me feel like I was on another planet.  Spooky and beautiful.

Tower Station, Route 66, Shamrock, Texas,

12 x 24" oil on canvas in a black wood frame with gold accents.

One of the most photographed gas stations on Route 66.  The exterior is completely tiled.  Iconic!

sunrise in the meadow

From a recent trip to the Million Dollar Highway to see the Fall colors in full splendor.

We found a cute boondocking spot off a Forest Road near Durango and woke up to a gorgeous sunrise.

Balloon Glow at the Taos Balloon Fiesta.

20 x 20 oil on canvas in a black floater frame.

In the evenings, the pilots tether their balloons and light them up with bursts of flames.  Spectacular!

Canyon de Chelly Sunset

36 x 60" oil on gallery wrap canvas.

I love the view from this overlook of Canyon de Chelly and sunset on a rainy day is the best!

I Love monument valley

20 x 60"oil on gallery wrap canvas in a black floater frame.

I really do.  It was the first place I wanted to go once our Vintage trailer had it's mirror shine.  I must have been there at least 5 times and I will go again.  I love it.,

holy puddles

20 x 16" oil on gallery wrap canvas in a floater frame.

I do a daily walk around my neighborhood and get to see this gorgeous adobe church in all weathers and seasons.

Starlight and Firelight

16 x 12" oil on gallery wrap canvas in a floater frame.

I love the glow of the open door bouncing light into the campsite.  Glamping at it's finest!

The road to Monument valley

24 x 24" oil on gallery wrap canvas in a black floater frame

Monument Valley is one of my favorite places to visit in an Airstream.  There is something about the iconic skyline combined with the shiny vintage trailer that just goes together in my head.  When you approach the monuments from the north, you see them like this in the distance and it seems to take forever to actually reach them.  They just get bigger and bigger.

mesa sunset

30 x 30" oil on gallery wrap canvas in a black floater frame

Here in the High Desert of New Mexico, we have the most glorious sunsets.

When I started this painting, I wanted the experience of painting something uplifting and expansive and it was.
