36 x 24" oil on gallery wrap canvas in a black floater frame.
I had the vision for this painting when we were guests at an Airstream rally in Texas. The day we were to drive home to Taos, I could see us at White Sands National Monument with our vintage Airstream and the bright pink, plastic flamingos.
We changed our route and were there later that day. It was a bright sunny day with New Mexico blue skies. I set up the flamingos in the sand and lay flat to look up at them, making the flamingos seem huge and the Airstream small and almost toy-like in the background. The bright light on the bright colors made everything almost dazzling. Perfect.
PS my husband Ray had a good laugh at me rolling around on the sand, taking the photos.
