I grew up in Hornchurch, Essex, just east of London and went to art school at 18. I traveled and did some interesting jobs for a few years, including ski rep in Andorra, holiday camp entertainer in Mallorca and backing vocalist in a touring Motown band before settling in London, studying music at Goldsmith's University and becoming a full time singer and singing teacher in my 20's. It wasn't until I moved to Taos, New Mexico in 2005 that my love of painting regained it's place in my life as my main focus.
Since then I've been painting prolifically, making up for lost time. Here, in Taos, I discovered the joys of painting Plein Aire and love to travel with a shiny vintage Airstream trailer and an easel through the wide open landscapes of the South West. I still enjoy portraiture, which was my first art love, and drawing and painting from the figure.
I have a few voice students and do the occasional singing gig, teach a few painting workshops a year, but you will find me painting in the studio most days of the week.
