Airstream art
"The freedom of the open road, the big landscapes of the Southwest, shiny Airstream Trailers and vintage trucks seem to call out for me to paint them"
I love Monument Valley and combine the iconic skyline with a vintage trailer and it just screams Americana. Glorious!

We must have taken the Airstream to White Sands National Monument 3 times already, we love it so much. I love surreal it feels, how bright all the colors seem against the blinding white sand dunes and how the Airstream seems even more shiny than usual.

Beautiful morning light picking out the edge of the canyon beyond the trailer.

Before we sold our 1956 Airstream Overlander, we shined her up and took her for a drive around some local beauty spots in the golden evening light. The mountain looked very pretty with it's long shadows and the trees were bright green with their new leaves.

White Sands National Monument is one of my favorite places to visit with our Airstream. The whiteness of the sand looks so improbable and bounces the light around, making the trailer look even shinier than usual!

We were driving towards Texas through an open, almost deserted stretch of road in South-east New Mexico near Wagon Mound. I wanted to capture the wide open landscape and the warm late afternoon light.

I particularly enjoyed how the truck and trailer sat in the pool of light in the car park.

We got our kicks, driving along Route 66 and parking our vintage trailer next to the roadside attractions and retro signage.

One of my absolute favorite views is approaching Monument Valley from the north and seeing the monuments along the skyline.

A gorgeous vintage tow vehicle with a mirror shined Airstream trailer by some monumental landscape - what could be better?

Acoma pueblo is a magical place. Being around the rock formations made me feel both relaxed and excited at the same time. A visit to the pueblo on top of a high mesa called Sky City is really worth the trip.

Here are some more of my truck and Airstream paintings, featuring the remaining works from a series of oversized truck paintings I did a few years ago.
